The Niced Up Core Policy

A reliable build demands an uncompromising foundation. At Niced Up Motorsports, your block and crankshaft set the standard for everything that follows. Whether you supply the hardware or we source it, our strict core policy guarantees every engine starts with a rock-solid base.

Core Supply Options

We offer three ways to start your engine build. Select the option that best fits your budget and goals:

  • Your Block, Your Build: You supply the bare engine block and crankshaft that will serve as the foundation of your build, waiving the standard core fee. Once received and inspected, we will machine and assemble your engine from the ground up.
Note: This option will extend the overall build timeline to accommodate inbound shipping logistics and the mandatory inspection process.
  • Core Exchange: Skip the wait times by having us build on a verified core from our inventory. You pay the core fee upfront. Once your equivalent core is shipped to us and passes our inspection, we will issue a refund for the core amount to your original payment method.
  • Niced Up Sourced Core: We will source and supply a verified engine core to serve as the foundation for your build. Selecting this route eliminates the need for inbound freight, and the applicable core fee is simply included in your final package total.
*Core Terms and Notes:
  • All cores must be sent stripped bare to just the block casting and crankshaft.
  • Cores that have been previously bored are automatically rejected.
  • Cores arriving with damaged crankshafts will only receive a 50% core credit when it comes time to issue that exchange refund.

Platform-Specific Requirements

When supplying a core, you must specify your exact platform (such as VVTi vs. Non-VVTi or NA vs Turbo). These core types are rarely cross-compatible due to factory differences, including:

  • Sensor Mounts: Newer blocks have specific mounting bosses for critical engine management sensors that older castings lack.
  • Oiling Systems: Blocks with variable valve timing require enlarged oil feed ports drilled directly into the casting.
  • Internal Clearances: Your exact cylinder head dictates how we measure and machine critical internal clearances, such as piston valve reliefs.
